Comptech S2000 stainless header and exhaust
I purchased my preowned 2002 S2000 last friday. The car had 2912 miles on the odometer. Supposedly, the original owner had his Honda dealer install a Comptech Sport S2000 stainless header with merged collector at the cat, and a Comptech S2000 stainless steel cat-back pre-muffler with dual exit canisters. I was told that since the system was a conversion done at the dealership, the factory warranty, plus the 100,000 mile extended warranty would not be voided. After driving the car over the weekend, and enjoying this unbelieveable rocket (WHAT A CAR!!!), I called a local Honda dealership service guy to see, if Honda or Honda Care would honor repairs in case of future problems.
The service gentleman said, that anything on the car that could be effected by the conversion, would not be honored. As I reflect on the meaning of his statement: it would seem, that I don't have much, that will be covered. As a new member to S2KI, I am hoping someone has some information on this subject. Additionally, is the Comptech quality equipment, and is there a educated guess as to the additional horsepower from these modifications. Many thanks, djude
