Default Comptech swaybar and Koni Shocks

Has anyone installed the Comptech Adjustable Swaybar and Koni shcoks? I just did it and I am having problems with the brakeline. The bar gets in the way of the brakeline mount on the shock. I did not bolt them back on, I zipped tied them over to the side a little.

Just curious if anyone else has run into this. Besides that, the installation of the bar was easy.

I didn't have any problems with the same combo, though the clearance was a little tight. You might want to check your Comptech bar to make sure that it is properly aligned. I know of one case where the arms of the bar were not aligned with eachother when it was welded together, resulting in some pretty bad preload. That might lead to more clearance problems.

The bar that I installed was "fixed" for that problem. Everything went in fine, the bar was just in the way of the brake lines.

How do you like this setup?

I'm a little disappointed in both items. In the Comptech bar for not being even stiffer. I'm currently running it with 2 bolts to add both bars together and it may not be enough. However, the issues I'm still facing may be due more to the Konis and not really the fault of the bar. I think the off the shelf Konis make the car a little easier to drive at the limit and certainly let you bias things front to rear, but don't mistake them for being in the same league with Koni 28's or Penske's. That said, I would add that I think for the $$ they are a decent buy.

Of course, I'm still tweaking alignment, pressures, etc. so my disappointment may be more on the total setup rather than any particular item. I just don't think I'm ever going to arrive at a setup that is totally comfortable to drive 100%, and maybe that's the hidden beauty of the S2K.

I bent the brakeline mounts on the Koni's to make them have the same angle as the stock brake mounts. No problems, except that the cheap Koni paint flaked off after I bent it. I have the Comptech bar also.

When I was installing the Comptech bar last night, I noticed the cheap paint on the shocks. I was kinda disappointed about that. I am going to look at the bolt situation this weekend. I also might make a different pin, one that does not require tools.

Randy, how do you like your setup?

Still too cold to test the setup very much.
