Default Comptech's New SCer Bracket

If you guys don't already have one , I highly recommend ! The kit looks and feels alot more stronger than it's previous bracket system . One other major difference , the vibration is gone that I used to feel from the shift knob .

Fastlane,

Did comptech give you the new bracket as a replacement for broken brackets or did you purchase it?

I have had brackets on both sides break and have gotten free replacements. The last break occurred just a month or two before word of the latest bracket came out.

When I found out about the latest and greatest bracket (the one you have), I called/emailed comptech about it. I was told that if the replacement brackets I currently have are OK, comptech will not be automatically sending out the latest bracket.

If your current brackets are OK, you would have to BUY the new one.

Hmm, sounds like if you have the old brackets you ought to grab onto the supercharger really tight and apply a little bending force... :-)

i have been trying to have them give me a price for the last 10 days.... bought my kit used so it it not under warranty from them. claim is the first run was taking care of the backlog of warranty replacements. next batch is due in wednesday and they will let me know price then. told them that if not ready, i would be willing to take an old set off their hands at shipping cost since i have a track event on 9-10 sep and am not going with busted brackets.

I just want to point out first that I'm not bragging about my experience with Comptech, but I just want to share my very positive expericence with them. I guess I was just extremely lucky and I talked to the nicest guy there.

The SC came with the car when it was purchased used, so there suppose to be no warranty on it. The main bracket developed a crack and I realized that it was missing the alternator bolt. So I called up Comptech and told the guy about the bracket and the bolt, he sent out the bolt without taking down any of my info and I received it in 2 days(Note that I'm in NY). But I did not tell him that I bought the SC used, I was going to either try to get a receipt from my friend that owns a speed shop or just pay for it. He told me that I would have to wait about a week, since they had just finished testing this new design. I got the bracket 2 1/2 weeks later(UPS 2nd day), the guy didn't even ask me for a receipt and I didn't pay one cent. So no matter what kind of stuff people say about Comptech, all I know is that they made my day.

Oh yah, BTW I had the new bracket since the end of June

BTW, please don't take my experience up with Comptech as an excuse to get the bracket. I don't want to get the guy in trouble or anything.

Just got off the phone with comptech...

It is still their policy to only provide the new, improved bracket assembly to those owners that have brackets break very recently and in the future.

Even though I have had both brackets fail, they failed individually and have been replaced with the individual bracket fix. Because I have "fixed" brackets, I am not eligible for this new bracket under warranty.

This pisses me off somewhat, as I am concerned about the longevity of the current brackets - why did comptech feel the need to come up with the new, integrated bracket design if, as I am being told, there shouldn't be a problem with the latest rev of the individual brackets?

The individual I talked to said if I wanted to purchase the new bracket assy, it's around $500
