Default console

Any suggestions on how to restore the finish that is wearing off the silver section of the center console (with the retracting door)

Thanks

Mike

I would recommend just getting a new one. They are very inexpensive, he is a good website to buy from http://www.hardtopguy.com/store/home.php?cat=26

I assume he means the silver on the actual center console, not the radio door, which is very expensive.

If you don't mind the shinier dark chrome material underneath the silver that is wearing off, I read on here that you can use rubbing alcohol to get the rest of the silver off, then it'll be that dark chrome instead. I'm in the same boat (assuming that's what you're referring to) and debating on whether or not to go this route.

Found the thread:

NOTE: I've also read that it only works on older AP1s....00-01 I guess they fixed the paint on the newer AP1s
