Default Center console

I think there was someone in the group that used nailpolish remover to cleanup the trim around the shifter. Mine is wearing, scratches on it look like cacapoopoo (technical term).

Are there any other fixes? Looking at the console piece, I suppose I can remove it and paint it, but thats not going to last.

Thanks for any ideas.

Cheers
~Joe

If you prep it and paint it right, it will last fine. You can probably find a used one in good shape also since a lot of people have done the AP2 conversion.

Use a citrus based cleaner. Or goo gone or something.

I pulled my console off, disassembled it, and used nail polish remover on it. It now looks 1000x better.

im personally not a fan of the silver centerpiece, i dont think it flows with ANYTHING in the interior, since nothing else is shinny metal, im personally planning on repainting mine a glossy black

I like the way they changed the console in the newer models. More leather on them. The plastic tho, need TLC

Alright.....so I took the console apart. Bummer....The metal flashing over the plastic has started to separate. Now it really looks like caca-poopoo. Going to try to remove all the flashing and spray it. Might try to get a new piece all together, although I can't imagine where.
