With the 50/50 gallon mix of Honda Coolant at 20 bucks, does anyone here use any other brand besides Honda?
What mixture % of distilled water/coolant/water wetter do you use?

 

I use OEM only Ray...

 

$20 a gallon? I just paid $11.58 a gallon for 50/50 from my local dealer. I would look for another dealer.

 

I only use Type II and it's certainly not $20 at my dealer.

 

I use Prestone( yellow bottle) 50/50 in my 03S2K & 96GST.The 02Z06 likes the Prestone DexCool 50/50.

I change it every other year or if it looks cloudy/dirty.Also add some Coolant Booster to all at the time of change.1oz of coolant boost to every qt of coolant seems to work well.

FWIW......Prestone has a rebate going on now.1qt=$5 back.....2qts=$11 back.

I recently bought 2 gallons of Type 2 blue coolant from my local Honda dealer in Mahwah, NJ, and it was about $22 per gallon. Where do you guys get it for $11 ? Is this OEM Honda coolant?

 

Motha.... its $22 now?!?!?! WTF?!?!

 

I thought the coolant was the 'pink' stuff ........

 

No one else uses regular coolant like Prestone, Zerex, PEAK?

 

I have heard the blue Type II OEM stuff from Honda doesn't have some additives that all the other ones do. Supposedly these are bad for the system. I don't think I have ever see difinitve proof behind that, but I just stick to the blue honda stuff for good measure. That and some Purple Ice.
