I use the pre-mixed Type II, and seriously. On Hondas, I change the coolant once after 10 years, and will again after another 5 years if I still have the car. No reason to pinch pennies on this. (If the car has a timing belt, then I do it with the timing belt.)

Distilled water is cheap, like $2/gallon.

Honda type2 blue is by far the best coolant I have ever worked with. It will stay completey spotless even after 10 years in operation.

Ray, get the blue stuff man...trust me. Leave it in for 5 years, as opposed to other garbage you'll need to drain in 2 years. there's your money back.
I can attest to Dex-Cool being pure crap! I had a ’98 Silverado pickup (purchased new), and after about 70k everything the coolant touches was replaced at least once (except the block). At the first sign of trouble (leaking water pump) I went to a radiator specialist that showed me that the inside of the cooling system was coated in a sand like grit from the Dex-Cool breaking down.

My sis had a Suburban with the same troubles. The shop manager of the Chevy dealership finally pulled her aside and said to take it to an oil change place to have the Dex-Cool flushed and replaced with basic green. He said he would never run it in one of his own cars.
This is what pushed me into driving a Honda, and I have never looked back!

Ok thanks guys. Wasn't sure really since there isn't anyway for the fluid to really be circulated back into the cooling system. It just sits there.
