Core Exchange?
can someone explaine a little throttle bodies in regards to the "Core Exchange" programs some people are running.
I take it the core is a expensive peice to make from new?
Which part is the core? Is it the part behind the butterfly?
The core is your old throotle body. They will rebuild yours to make the next one to sell. Yours will be bored and a new butterfly will pe put in. They will then sell it to someone and ask them for a core....the cycle goes on.
Right I see thanks for that.
Are there are any limitations to using a standard throttle body and having this milled out to Spoon Specs or like the J's Racing one?
Are they doing something special to thiers that a local busiiness couldn't do as they charge more, or is it simply because you're getting a new throttle body added to the price?

There is not much of any difference other than the bore size. The Sppon or Js is already a larger bore (70mm?) than stock. There would be no need to increase the bore on those two. A stock is smaller so it can be bored to the larger size and be about the same as the Spoon/Js.
