Default Couple issues-help

#1 Got the car detailed yesterday, a few hours after I went to put my top down and it stalled about 7/8 down. Put it back up immediately then back down and no problems, but my passenger window won't go up or down, any ideas?

#2 Took off and got to about 5k rpm in first and all of a sudden there was a grinding noise and the car stopped accelerating, shifted to 2nd got about 5k rpm again and it did the same thing. I was not flooring it, but was accelerating somewhat aggressively. I had just started the car and it wasn't really warmed up yet when this happened. No more problems the remainder of the evening and I drove home (about 100 miles this morning) with no problems. Thoughts?

I just checked the fuse and it's good.

1. Switch on the driver window?

2. That was the car's way of telling you not to do that. Make sure it is warmed up before you try that again.

1. Driver's window fine. Both fuses look good.

2. Yeah, guess so.

My top has been acting up a couple of times recently as you describe. I remembered Billman or someone else saying that you need to pull down on the overhead cross bar while dropping the top. I've been trying it and it's working fine now.No binding. My windows always go down though.

there's a switch on the driver's door that disables the passenger window.

Since you just washed the car, maybe some window electrical components in one of the doors got really wet. It might start working again after it has a change to dry out.

LMFAO. It was the switch. Wow, what a dumbass I am. Anyone need to buy a passenger window regulator as I just purchased one on eBay for $65.

^^Hahaha...so funny. I have heard of alot of folks doing that, not just on the S but on other cars with that switch. That is the first thing I check if I have those symptoms!

Glad you found the window issue.
For the top when they are talking about pushing the bar back as it is going down, that is due to the elastic straps loosening. Ricks2k.com has some replacement straps that should fix the problem.
