cracked valve retainers
Posted here a few days ago. Found out my issue and looking for advice. My S has cracked valve retainers im guessing from
overrevving and two of the valves dropped, and are now rubbing against the cam shaft causing a ticking noise. (havnt fell into the engine) At the moment the cars sitting , i plan on buying ap2 retainers but was wondering where to go to get them and what would i need besides retainers? and has anyone had this happen to them before? thanks

The valve tip is not broken off.
The retainer is rubbing on the roller, and the roller is transferring metal powder to the cam shaft. You will need a camshaft soon if you wait.
Cost should be 400-550, parts included. Should include complete valve adjustment also.
Can be done while you wait with someone familiar with the job.
