Default Crank Position Sensor Problem

Hello, first of all sorry because of my language.. My english isnt perfect.. I will try to describe my Problem:

I've bought an AP1 from 2000 ( European Model )

The CEL was already on. I've tried to Test the car and noticed that I have Troubles over 6000 revs - Not so much power and cut offs -

So I plugged it on OBD and the Code P0335 crankshaft position sensor was Shown.

I erased the Code . The day After I Started the car and at standing it feeled like as the engine will stop just for a millisecond the rev Fall down under 500 and came back to normal, but the CEL was on back again.

Now I will try to replace the CPS, I've ordered - without knowing that Honda build a new Version of CPS for the AP2 - the newer one..

The difference of them are:
- old ap1 CPS is one part with integrated harness wiring ( 2 pins Blue/white cables) but the plug to the top is with 3 pins

- new ap2 CPS is just a sensor ( 3 pins input) and the harness wiring is extra , I could order the oem sub harness wiring as OEM at Honda .

Is it possible to run the ap1 engine/ecu with the ap2 CPS ? I think the Plugs on the top are different although they are both with 3 pins..

I would be very grateful, if someone could help me . Thx

Pretty sure the sensors are different types so it wont work.
I'm guessing it's 37500-PZX-003 that you got?
If so I'm interested in buying it, I just broke one myself

I have been looking into this as well. My sensor just took a crap, but I'm not experiencing the same symptoms as you. Im just throwing a CPS code.

I am not sure if the sensors are interchangeable due to the fact that the ECU in AP1 is different than the ECU in AP2. But then again I haven't read of anyone trying this.
From what I gather on the AP1 is that two wires are ground and one is signal. I believe the sensors are the "same" meaning they are magnetic sensors that don't have voltage running to them. But don't take my word for it.

Speaking of trying things, has anyone tried installing a Trigger wheel and Hall sensor for those of you who are running Haltech?

I can tell for a fact that you can't run an older crank sensor on an newer model ecu so the reversed would most likely be the same.
Here is a picture on the old (left) and new type of sensor.
