Default Cruise controll issues

After installing hitch wiring my cruise control can be disabled by activating the turn signal. This did not happen right away, but soon after. It was also wet the day I drove the car for the first time with the hitch on pulling a small trailer.

On a side note, i hit a bump and all the dash lights turned off for a second or two and then came back on.

So, any ideas why the blinker would deactivate the cruise?

I am not familiar with the installation of the hitch kit, but I would double check any wiring you did as well for pinch points. Specifically there may be a place where the wires are pinched and are getting rubbed bare allowing them to short. Do all the lights on the trailer work correctly?

If you hit a bump and all the lights turned off, check the battery terminals.
