Default Custom exhaust causing raspy sounds in VTEC

So I had an exhaust shop make my single exhaust and welded an Apexi N1 canister to a pipe. Its sounds great from 1K-6K, but above that, it seems I hear high pitched raspy sounds that I dont like. Could it be the exhaust shop did a cheap job on making it? Do exhaust shops weld differently from other shops? Or is it supposed to sound raspy up top since I am single and not dual?

It's a single exhaust with a Apex N1 muffler, both can make the exhaust loud and raspy.
That's pretty much the nature of the beast. One man's loud and raspy is another's deep and agressive.

If the piping is hitting something under the car, expect it to make even more noise.
