custom Titanium exhuast?
Actually the titanium alloys are much stronger and MORE difficult to bend. When you use alloy metal, they will pie cut and weld straight tubing to make the bends. If you are mandrel bending you want as little alloy as possible (you don't have to buy pure Ti... you can get "dirty" Ti, check out any Russian MIG). The question is not where to find the mandrel bender that will bend Ti, the question is where to buy mandrel bendable Ti.
Check your local scrap yards... there is a place up in the Bay Area (Oakland, ALCO Aluminum (not ALCOA... ALCO) where you can buy leftover scrap from Lockheed (it is alloy though so you will not be bending it). A lot of times the employees don't even know what it is and you can pass it off as stainless.
Interesting Sideways about the $8000-$10000 for a custom exhaust... makes sense though. Too bad they don't sell them for $500 without a resonator <ahem... Ralph's friend who lurks on this board>. $500 for 40 hours of work makes out to be about $12.50 an hour.
