Default CV joint boot rubber type

Does anyone know the rubber compound used in our (OEM) s2000 CV boots?

Elsewhere on the site is a recommendation to treat the boots with silicone spray/grease. This from Dow Corning tech support:

"Thank you for contacting Dow Corning. Typically when using a silicone rubber gasket, we wouldn't recommend a silicone based lubricant to help extend the life of that gasket/rubber due to compatibility issues. Silicone lubricants are known to significantly swell (40%+) silicone rubbers, which is typically not ideal. Silicone lubricants are typically used on rubber gaskets made of Viton, Nitrile, EPDM, etc. If you have a silicone gasket you need to lubricant, I would suggest using a fluorosilicone such as Molykote 3452 or a synthetic lubricant such as Molykote G-4500 Grease"

The elastomer is Buna-N (aka NBR-Nitrile Butadiene Rubber).

I've sprayed my boots before and it really seems like a waste IMO, the stuff lands on the boot and then it is gone. I don't think it does anything to be honest, nothing good and nothing bad. I would think 303 aerospace would adhere better, but then it washes off quite easily in wet conditions.

On my Samco silicone rad hoses they don't recommend any protectant spray, just clean them with soap and water.
