I have a 2002 ap1 and I feel that the 04-05 s2000s are the best ones. The biggest issue I have with the 2006+ s2000s is the fact that it has a return less fuel system. This means that there will be over a thousand or so dollars extra cost for anyone wanting to go turbo because the fuel lines cannot support big power.

FlashPro will set VTEC just about anywhere you want. Mine is set at 3600rpm but is also dependent on throttle position and engine load. My setup, at least, never "hunts" for which cam it wants to use and I can run up to well over the speed limit and she'll never VTEC if I'm using light throttle. 80mph is roughly 4200rpm and she's on the economy cam when cruising. Almost like an automatic downshift if I push the throttle. No need to change down to 5th usually on the 4-lanes. Lowered VTEC keeps the car on the cam between gears during WOT acceleration. I thought the car was great before the FlashPro tune. Quantum nicer with it.

The valve clearance is not connected to the DBW system. The 2006+ cars are highly prone to this (especially the '06) and coincidentally DBW started in 2006 as well. An easy albeit tedious job checking/adjusting the valves. Looking for an off-season day with the car? This is it.

I have owned both a 2004 Non-DBW and 2008 DBW, both AP1 as i'm in the UK.

There are times that the DBW can be caught of guard, I have wondered if it more about how the pedal is mapped vs it actually having any lag to it.

I previously had an E39 M5 which I had the throttle mapped because I hated the way it felt, small pedal movement made the car jerky but then there wasn't much difference the rest of the travel. I had that mapped to be 25% throttle was 25% opening etc it made the car soo much more smoother to drive it was lovely, the downside was in town it didn't feel like an M5 as it was so docile

It's a bit of a myth that DC current travels at light speed. It travels far slower, about 0.5c-0.99c, depending on many other factors.

Yes, I'm a pedant and AP1 defender.
