Default Dead battery!

The battery has needed to be replaced for about 6 months, but since I don't drive the S right now there's no point in spending money on a new battery.

Tonight is a special occasion and I decided to drive the S2000, but now the car won't start.

It's just me and I can't get the darn thing to bump start, so my question is this.

Can I take the battery out of my 2000 Toyota Celica and put it in the 2001 S2k and it work?

I haven't looked up the specifications on each battery and I'm highly doubting this will work, but hey.....who knows, maybe I'll get lucky.

12v is 12v. The Toyota battery should have enough cold cranking amps to start an s2k. Only question is if it will fit in the s2k battery box.

A buddy was able to pick up a perfectly fitting replacement s2k battery at Wal-Mart of all places.

Bets are it was an Everstart 51-4/435CCA which is a great choice for the S2000 available at Wally World Put one in my MY03 last year.

yep, as long as the CCA is the same or better yet: higher then you'll have no problem getting started

my sister's GTS' battery is 550cca, i believe our stock is around 500

Actually, at least for the AP1, the stock battery is Group Size 51R, 12V-36AH/5 hours 410CCA which is why that WallyWorld Everstart 435CCA isn't such a bad way to go given their warranty and availability and all.....

Same here, no issues. I understand there are many brands but few actual manufacturers when it come to batts, so I went cheap. I actually found quite a few testimonials in favor of the Wal-Mart brand on the fishing sites. Those guys work the hell out of batteries with their trolling motors. Good luck.

you might very well be right.

i reason i said it might be 500cca is that the interstate replacement i am rocking is 500cca, group size 51

the stock panasonic lasted me about 3 years with a decent sound system and couple deep discharge, which is not bad.

another option to go cheap is to get reconditioned battery, i got my interstate recon battery out the door for 25 buck(all size, extra for optmia)

the last interstate recon battery lasted 5 years and counting, i am on my second one for my s(after panasonic took a dump)

Walmart or autoparts store is fine for a battery. look for a warranty because most batteries are made out of recycled old batteries unless otherwise noted.
