Default DEAD CAR

Hey Guys and Gals,

New to the site, so whats up!

now onto my issue, so after purchasing my s2k I ran the piss out of it for 20,000 miles and ran into the dreaded AP1 retainer issue. I used to read up on stuff and should have caught this but was ignorant....so now I have a used motor with dual valvesprings and upgraded retainers, Also threw in comp clutch stg 4 and lightweight flywheel. All this aside after doing the motor installation myself and getting the car back into running condition, installed a ballard timing chain tensioner(stock one was making the ticking noise). Check engine light would be very random, So I drove it around in the arizona heat for a few days and notice a definite drop in the battery power, it died one day and I had to get a jump, got it home charged the battery to just have it fail and barely turn over car. Just replaced the Battery with duralast gold(from what ive read in other post best choice for quick replacement) and still get nothing, put key in ignition and guages are very dim can barely see whats lighting and get a clicking or nothing when hitting the start button. I have checked fuses and going to check alternator and starter after work today, but for some reason i beleive this goes deeper than this. All grounds were installed in stock locations and where tight as could be but I will check over these as well. Checked cable ends and cleaned them but still get nothing. I am now afraid I have burnt out the starter solenoid in all my attempts now that I get no response.

Lemme know what you think! thanks in advance.

I will add this to the list of things to check. Also going to check my extra key to make sure its not that.

sounds like the alternator just check the battery's voltage with a multimeter or something. If it's brand new it should be a little over 12v. If it's less than that you either have something that's draining it or your alternator isn't charging it back up.

Thanks for your help guys, think I got it figured out the cable ends are pretty badly corroded. Have fuel and no spark but when I hook battery directly to starter Works great, can also turn over car with charger choked up on the cables. I beleive its time to just put it in the trunk. can anyone point me to a good battery relocation forum? Thanks
