Default decat issues?

Hi
I am looking to decat my s2000, can anyone who has had this done give me the run down on what is involved? I hear there are problems with running a decat due to the OBDII system, is this true? if so what are they?

Also are there any other engine mods I can carry out to compliment the addition of a decat pipe, i.e. CAI or Fuel pressure regulator?

Im aware of the emission problems associated with doing this and am happy to change the catalyst back for its emissions test.

Thanks in advance

Removing the cat will generate a Check Engine Light (CEL). You will need either an electronic O2 simulator or a mechanical one as shown here:

Removing the cat is easy - unscrew the O2 sensor, unbolt the front, unbolt the back, pry the exhaust system apart a bit and take out the cat. Now comes the hard part. You need to replace the cat with something. You can buy a "test pipe" that has all the correct flanges and angles ready to go or you get a muffler shop to make you one. A test pipe also has the bung to put the O2 similutor and sensor back in.

As for what other mods to do, this is not a topic for UTH. You can post this up in S2000 Talk.
