A few questions that might help since I dunno what to say...

She's not receiving any check engine lights on her instrument cluster?
When exactly did this start happening, what was she doing at the time?

Do you know of anybody mechanically inclined who can check out a few things for her like cylinder compression

Where do you live? (not address, city, state) and maybe somebody can direct you to a local shop that will be of more assistance.

Just normal daily driving and it died on her. It just will not hold an idle at certain times, in fact yesterday when I was sitting at a stop light in neutral, I went to take off and it had already died. Seems like if you let it idle down below 1000 rpms it will idle down and die. We live in the DFW area.

Map whack? I'm not sure the map problem was ever bad enough to cause it to die but it certainly caused mine to *almost* die several times...

Call Honda America and tell them that your extremely disappointed with this issue and you're local dealer is being extremely unprofessional.

Get a case # going this way if you need warrenty work done some of the leg work is out of the way

*This isn't a map whack fix

Could be a faulty sensor and DO NOT mention to them you put in any type of cleaner agent in the motor... the thing is brand new

Get Honda America involved

+1. I haven't heard of any issues since the updated MAP sensor. And this definitely sounds too severe for MAP issues.

It could be other sensors, but I'd expect it to throw a code.

Thanks guys. I found this on the web today.
Thinking this is it, even though it does not list the S2K, I believe this could be the issue.

That is completely unrelated. The engine in the S2000 is unique to this vehicle only, unlike the cars listed in that recall the S2000 doesn't share engine parts with any other vehicle that Honda makes. If you go to the dealer citing that you want them to thoroughly inspect your vehicle based on a recall that doesn't apply to it they'll likely never take you seriously.

If the car is under warranty I don't understand why the second dealer insisted on charging you a diagnostic fee. Also, the first dealer has already diagnosed the problem as bent valves. It is entirely possible that the car was mechanically over reved by choosing too low of a gear at too high a speed (accidentally shifting into 2nd at 90mph). I see posts on here all the time about people destroying their engines in this car because it is so easy to choose the wrong gear due to the slick shifting transmission and the short shift throws.

Finally, you haven't answered an earlier question that was posted. Does your car have a check engine light illuminated on the dash? If so this means the ECU (the car's onboard computer) has logged a problem, you can have this problem read with a code reader for FREE. It might help you figure out what is going on with the car. Did this problem happen out of the blue? Or has it been acting up for a while and it is slowly getting worse?

getting honda of american involved is your best bet, tell them how dissatisfied you are with the dealership and that you want this resolved, again as stated above don't tell them anything about putting additives into the engine, not because it is causing the problem but the stealership would love to have a scapegoat to blame,

unless your daughter admits to over-revving the engine and causing bent valves (I can see why she wouldn't want to) you should have a case here, but I was hoping bent valves would throw a CEL, and I think that if there was one you would have mentioned it...
