So the car shut off when you bridged the signal coming from the ecu. And now it turns over, but doesn't ever start. Sounds to me like you fried your ecu. Check to see if you have injector pulse or any blown fuses, but I would start looking for an 02-03 ecu if I were you.

 

Does the immobilizer light flash?

Not every link between the ecu and sensors is fused. If he bridged a connection coming from the ecu it might have done damage to the ecu itself. I think he might've noticed a blown fuse by now.

 

Check the classifieds, I saw one a few weeks back from an 02 or 03 for 120.

 

I checked with the dealer recently, and if you bring the car, They'll cut and reprogram a new key. It's $105 to program, and like 70 for the remote or something ricidulous like that.
