Diagnose my clutch issue
Changed the clutch in my '06 three weeks ago to a custom copper full-face setup. Since then, while shifting out of 4th gear, I can feel the gears disengaging quite clearly, like the clutch isn't fully letting go. This only happens once or twice out of every thirty shifts. Likewise, I have a 5th gear upshift-only crunch at about the same rate, 5% of the time or so. I also get a few clunks tooling around in first that feel like the disc is catching on something.
This condition has improved with the age of the clutch in that it does it less frequently now that is has ~600 miles on it.
I'm planning on dropping the transmission on Sunday to re-lube the throwout bearing guide. Is this worth my time or should I see if it goes away completely with miles?
