I guess I am just being over cautious.
I am so used to lauching that way. I drove my other Hondas like that, because I was afraid of burning out the clutch, everyone always rags on how weak they are.

Most everyone tells me I am too careful

I have 106,000 miles on my original pads and rotors on my civic, never been cut, and the clutch to me feels weak but most people say it feels like new.

So if you are telling me to grow some balls maybe I should and launch the car like a man.

You don't have to "launch" the car. A launch is 7000rpm, feathering the clutch while you smoke the rear tires .

For every day driving, feeding the clutch out at 2000rpms isn't launching. It's driving like a normal person.

Just out of curiousity, has your car every been over 5000 rpms?

Yes, after 3000 miles and two oil changes.
It would be hard not to do that on this car.

Revving out the motor, rev matching downshifts, and engine breaking is something I am not afraid to do.

I guess after reading through these forums lately I am super paranoid about everything, all I read about is the bad things. Premature engine wear, #2 and #4 failures, warranty denial coverage, oil deprivation, flaky transmissions.

I mean it is everywhere. So I guess I am just really gun shy.

You could also try to find a 50 lbs flywheel.

I just took it out and glued on some 20 lbs weights and had it balanced at discount tire.

I can now launch at 300 RPMS much better. Clutch wear should not be an issue now.
