I hear this weird clicking or ringing noise whenever I am in VTEC on 4th or higher gear. The sound comes from the passenger side of the car near the windshield. I never heard this kind of noise before but lately, I been hearing it everytime I am in VTEC in higher gears. Anyone know what may be the problem??? Thanks!!

 

Learn to enjoy the ring, that sound comes with the v-tech.

 

Maybe I shouldn't have said ringing because I know that it comes with the VTEC. This noise is weird...I just can't explain it like I want to(tapping noise?). Anyway, I never heard this before so I was just concerned......

 

Do a search on clutch and noise.

The sound is from the clutch. Most of us have it whether we realize it or not ('00 or '01). It happens mainly on deceleration at about 7k and 4k rpm and on acceleration at about 8-9k.

 

I dunno, the list is extensive on this car
Valves?
Rods?
if the sound doesnt is familar to you i would have it checked out.
Better to be safe than BROKE

 

My best recommendation is to get one of the veterans with experience with various S2000's to take it for a drive.
