You can transfer more heat by either increasing fin area (like you are doing) OR by increasing air flow. How about you take your sheet metal and mount them to catch air from under the car and direct it up onto the factory fins?

You need a big wing to get into the cool airflow better

What about mounting a fan on the back of the diff to more more air over the back of it?
