for a while now my rearend (sounds funny hehe) has been making a "warbling" sound, that goes with the rotation of wheels, it sounds like its coming from the wheel but its a sound that could probably only come from the diff, sound transference through halfshaft? its constant and only stops during high acceleration. is it the whole diff? or just the LSD? and what does a used diff go for these days?. thanks

 

it could be a wheel bearing. does it make the sound on left or right turns as well?

warbling doesn't describe it specifically.

it's the driver side rear wheel. sounds as if the wheel is bent to sh!t and the balance is out. but i had the wheel checked and opened my door and watched it while driving & saw nothing unusual

 

jack up the rear and try to woble the tire at the top and bottom by holding the wheel at the top and other hand at the bottom and push and pull like your trying to pull it off if it was stuck. if you have any play in the wheel with tight lugs then your wheel bearing is bad, there should be no play.

well crap, sorry i doubted you guys. the wheel bearing seized (froze) and has been spinning in the knuckle this whole time. also the LSD is trash. i need a driver rear knuckle w/ good bearing, i'll post in WTB forum.
