Default Diff oil (mobil 75w90)

Can somebody confirm this diff oil can be used for ap2 (2006)?

http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessori...omString=search

I did search, just making sure before I do the change. I need only one quart?

Thanks,
Tnt

Yes, you can use that oil. Mobil 1 75W90 is a good overall gear oil.

In contrast, Lucas oil is a terrible product - I don't know how you are quantifying that it "works great". Proof is in the pudding.

The link below is to a white paper commissioned by Amsoil and conducted by an independent lab. It compares the performance and qualities of several popular synthetic and a few conventional gear oils using industry standardized tests. The test shows that some gear oils perform very well in one or two tests, but then fail in several other tests. The focus is to determine which oil performs well in all tests.

Lucas oil performed well in a couple tests, but absolutely failed in several other areas and was the worst oil tested overall. Royal Purple was the second worst, and its performance was similar to that of Lucas oil.

Mobil 1 performed well in all but one of the standardized tests which was the Viscosity After KRL Shear Test. Overall it's a good gear oil.

I've been using Amsoil for a number of years and it has been proven to be the best gear oil available. Puddy Mod Racing is likely the best diff builder you can find - he uses Amsoil gear oil. Until another oil is proven better - I'll stick with Amsoil.

The DIY is there. The thread will also talk about what different oils are used. I used Mobil 75w90 on my recent fluid change. No issues whatsoever. You should only need 1 quart, unless you are a bit sloppy and don't think you can get a full quart in. With a pump, it shouldn't be an issue.

Wow... Lucas is crap. When I went to get some synthetic gear oil, the store I go to was out of Mobil 1. I looked over the other selections and the Lucas seemed ok. I had seen lots of Lucas logos on CORR and other offroad racing vehicles so I figured it must be some tough stuff. I guess one more thing just got added to my to do list: change diff oil.
