Default Diff Slip?

I have no idea how to explain this but here it goes.....I recently had my differential replaced about 4000 miles ago. Recently after driving on the freeway for a couple of hours, the rear would seem to feel as if it is slipping slightly after the first complete stop. After letting off in 1st gear again it would go away and the car would shift normal. At first I thought it was just loose gravel and the tires were having some trouble gripping. But it seems to be coming from the rear end.

I began to think it was due to the dealer putting in the wrong diff fluid. So I called the dealer to check the part # used in the invoice and the tech confirmed that the right diff fluid was used.

Bear in mind I don't drive my car for long distances very often so I hardly get this problem. It only happens when the car has been driven constantly without a stop.

Has anyone had a similar problem?

Thanks in advance.

More likely a new disk and the tranny is fine.

Needing a new dif means you must be pretty hard on your car. So it's def a new clutch your going to need, if your getting slippage when you accelerate.

But try a clutch bleed first how many miles on the clutch?

It's not a clutch. It grabs fine. And the pedal feel is still soft. Like i mentioned earlier, 30K on the clutch. I'm going to do a fluid change and see if that changes anything.

My last clutch went 20,000 miles and was paper thin. If it is slipping when warm the only thing it could be is the clutch. The rear end does not slip, the tranny does not slip. Tires slip on ice but yours were warm. Must be clutch if you are reporting the symptoms correctly.

I really hope its not the clutch since my first clutch lasted over 70,000 miles and this one for only 30,000. I drive the car the same as I did on the first one. Your clutch Phil I can understand for lasting 20,000 with the amount of power your car has and all the launches you do. Well we will see.
