Default Difference between a dynojet and mustang Dyno

Anyone know why there is a significant delta in number produced by the two dyno's and by how much....

I do know that dynojet dynos tend to correct upwards.. That SAE correction generates kind of "large" numbers actually. Most people don't want to hear that though.

Beroz, from what I have been told. What ever number you get from a mustang dyno. You can add 10-11% and that figure would be what you would pull on a dyno jet. Anyone feel free to correct me on this.

I have got my car dynoed at a local mustan dyno place, and one day later. It was dynoed on dyno jet. Exactly 11% in difference.

That is very pleasing.....I dynoed my car at 214.?? Hp on a Mustang Dyno ~ 237.5 HP on a dyno jet...this is without the Cams..... and Toda Header.....

That is surprising, since the DynaPacks seem to give numbers 5-10% higher than DynoJets.

There's still a lot of friction loss on the dynojet so I can't see that being a realistic number (237.5 HP) unless you have some crazy mods on the car.

I'm curious too, what mods do you have?

gernby,
No the TODA header and cams are not in yet...... I will be installing the cams on the 14th..... the Toda headers will be arriving at the end of the month. I currently have different headers on... I am doing some R&D of my own and will let you all know what I feel is the best N/A set up....stay tuned
Back to the topic, So why does the dynopack give more HP readings.....Which Dyno requires taking off the rear wheels>?

www.dynapack.com

From the site:
"The Dynapack is attached directly to the wheel hubs, thereby overcoming all the disadvantages of tyre distortion including noise, torque steer, loss of traction, tyre heat and variations in tyre design and wear. Direct coupling eliminates the need to estimate torque and enables the dynamometer to make very sensitive readings over a very wide range of engine speeds. With no tyre roller interface the results are more precise and are repeatable."
