Default Differential Fluid Recommendations?

Hi, would you please recommand some brands of differential fluids?
and generally what weight is most suitable for our car?
I've been told Endless 85w-140 is good. Can anyone help me out?
thanks in advance.

I recommend Mobil 1.

Don't use a 85w-140 fluid.

Differential Gear Oil for S2000s
Here's an update to the article we posted in the October '01 issue of ServiceNews (see "GL6 Gear Oil Not Available for S2000 Differentials"). You can actually fill up the differential with any SAE 75-90 or 80-90 viscosity hypoid gear oil that's classified GL5 or GL6, not just SAE 90.

Cheers.

You are in Vancouver so I think I know who it is that is recommending this fluid to you. Have you asked him if he has used it in his own S2000? And ask if he has any evidence of this fluid's "record" after a full year of use in your climate. Although you do not have the really cold temps that we get here, you still get chilly temps some part of the year and this fluid is just a bit too thick.
Mobil 1 synthetic 75W90 has a proven track record with this car and is widely used. So does Amsoil (proven track record) but it is not quite as widely used in this car that I can determine by posts on this forum.
The diff in this car is a known "weak" point and is very expensive to replace or fix. Do you really want to try a fluid that is unknown in this diff because someone has a stockroom full of it or is simply trying to "market" it based on its performance in other cars or for whatever other reason?
On the other hand, if the supplier is willing to give you a specific written guaranty to replace your diff should something go wrong, then give it a try and come back in a year and tell us how it worked and what the fluid looks like when you change it.

I really don't think there is a problem using the 85W-140 lube, it will just be more resistant to thinning in the heat. Several of us have used lube rated as 75W-250 with no problem.

i would recommend 75-90 or 80-90 gear oil with atleast gl-5 specifications. i plan on using castrol hypoy c gear oil 80w90 gl-5+ with limited slip performance. redline also makes good fluid, www.kingmotorsports.com

I would recommend motul gear 300. It is THE best 75-90 on the market. is ester-based and is suitable for normal and extreme conditions.

Redline MT-90 works for me and someone posted that 1/2 Redline MT-90 1/2 Redline MTL works well too, helped eliminate 1st-2nd gear grind.
