Difficulty of springs and struts installation?
I'm going to buy springs and Koni Yellows pretty soon. Haven't decided on what brand springs yet though.
I installed springs and Koni Yellows on my 2000 Civic fairly easily.
Would installing springs and the Koni's on my s2000 be any more difficult than the Civic? Is there anything "special" that I have to look out for when changing these parts on my s2000?
I really don't trust any shops here so I'd rather do as much work on my car as I can. But at the same time, I don't want to "experiment" with this $30,000+ vehicle and risk breaking something
Help a brotha out!

It's actually pretty straight forward. Do you have a helms manual? I think it says that you need a ball joint separator, but you don't. Basically just undo the upper A arm bolts and swing it out. Just watch out for the brake lines. A spring compressor is always a good idea, but the S2k springs really aren't loaded THAT much, just be careful not to shoot an eye out.
I've never installed the Konis, but in the past I heard that some people have had problems w/ the bottom nut. The car seems to be set up to swap parts out quickly and conveniently. While the wheels are off, it's also a good time to paint the calipers too if you like that look. Good luck.
Edit: Get a spring compressor. It's usually free to rent from your local auto parts store. I don't want to be responsible for injuries

You only need a spring compressor to dismantle the stock spring/struts.
I just put tein springs over my stock struts and compressed em using the car. Put the spring over the strut and put it into place. Then bolt the hat to the car. Put a jack under the brake and raise it to compress the spring then just put on the strut top bolt.

This is a very simple install, read the thread below and post up if you have anymore questions.

Locally, you can go to SPL Auto Tuning. They are old-timers to import modding. They also know the S2000 very well. Both owners have one. One is supercharged, the other will undergo a full NA build.
They have great prices and can do this type of mod while you wait.
Their website is www.splautotuning.com
The other thing is, check in with the Upper Midwest Owners. There are many of us that have done MANY suspension installs. I have about 11 installs under my belt on owners from IL and WI, 2 of which were on my own car.

Thanks for the replies guys! The link was very helpful. I'll check out SPL Auto Tuning in case I want to do some more invasive work to my car in the future. Thanks Luder. I'll be sending you a private message if I get in trouble with this install haha

I'm not really sure, but I'm assuming that it might be similar to what we had to do on my buddyclub coilovers. The lower shock mounting nut was welded onto the shock but was the wrong size for the OEM bolt so we had to cut the nut off and use a different one.
