Default Do you have AEM installed?

I have a recently turbo'd S, with AEM EMS installed, and the car starts slowly all the time... only after 3-5 cranks will it turn over. I know its not hurting anything, but it doesn't sound good. I went to a very reputable AEM tuner, and he told me that was normal, but is it? Anyone else with this problem?

The EMS car I've been in takes a while to start. The EMS has to sync the cam sensors before firing the coils/injectors.

Upgraded AEM EMS firmware is much better with very little delay in starting. Free upgrade.

If you run into issues with hot start ... car VERY hard to start once it's hot and sits for just a few minutes ... then you also have old hardware. Also a free upgrade but you have to send the EMS back to AEM.

I have this EXACT issue. I once stalled the car in traffic and it would not start for 5 minutes. I tried various tuning tweaks, to no avail. Do you know how I can determine the version of hardware I have before I call AEM?

Get the serial number off the EMS and call AEM.

If you have the older EMS, you'll have to send it back for them to do the h/w upgrade. Took them about a week to do mine.

msm, you are the man! Wow, I'm taking mine out tomorrow morning to ship out.

Thanks for the heads up!
