Does cheap/expensive intake matter?
There's a GB going on for the AEM v2 intake. On Ebay i just type in s2000 intake and some crappy one showed up for about 30 bucks. Does 200 dollars intake make any different? What are some of yall opinions and which intake are good for 02 s2000?
My sister bought a cheap intake for her Lexus IS300, it did fit, but I had to go buy new clamps because the ones it came with didn't fit, it needed some modifying, and it only came with one hose when it needed a couple. Just remember this, "You get what you pay for"! The V2 intake is also like no other intake out there, it has two tubes and supposedly is better, although since I have a turbo, I have no idea. Go with the AEM V2.
i have an Injen and would recomend it to any one sounds great and adde a little hp. But i met with spankee, hes on the board, on friday night and he has the K&N intake and it is a GREAT unit. It is very similar in shape to the injen but it has a really cool way to mount/hide the check valve and it also come s with K&N's "hydrosock" more or less its a mesh bag that goes over the filter wich stops water from coming in you intake. as for that one for 30 bucks i would geuss it would hurt your power then add any at all so i would stay stock. that being said even a 200 or 300 dollar intake will only give like 5hp if your lucky, unless you have other mods.
the piping of most intakes are pretty much the same, the filter element makes a big difference though. for example a weapon r intake or a aem cai. the weapon r intake uses a cheap "foam" filter which offers high flow, but also takes in debris too. the aem uses a k&n filter which offers good flow but doesn't take in contaminents.
