Door Lock Broke?

worst case you have a get a solenoid for the door, i converted my miata to power lock and it cost less than 30 bucks

I don't understand this, our doors are already have power locks.

he said he broke something, i am sure the oem solenoid would cost more than 30 bucks, so i am saying in the worst case if he did broke it, you can fix it for 30 buck

if you are handy enough to do it.

Im plenty handgy, but it is in a tough area, and with the door dynamatted, its really hard to see what moving part is actually broken.
Is there a way you can remove the door panel(metal, not leather) and be able to freely work on the locking mechanism?

When I had the windows rolled up I couldnt see what was actually broken. I had put the top down(therefore the windows also) just to make it easier to remove all the door panels and stuff. I stick the key in the door and turn and with the windows down I can see all the mechanism of the lock. The vertical rod that goes in the door had popped out. AFter about 10 minutes of looking real akward in my driveway(one hand in the door, one on the outside holding the key, and my teeth holding back the rubber window seal back so i could still see down in the door) I was able to pop the rod back in place. Done! Works good as new. Thanks everyone!
