Default Door won't unlock

Went to open the car today and as I press unlock on the fob it unlocks but quickly locks up again within a second or so. Managed to get in by the passenger side as that door will open if I'm quick enough. The handle on the inside of the driver's door is not sitting flush. Seems stuck open a little so I'm guessing this will not allow the lock knob to unlock.

I know I need to get into the inside of the door but how can I remove the door card when I can't open the driver's door at all? Anyone any ideas or would I have to just sacrifice the door card?

Happy New Year!

You haven't mentioned what happens when you try the key?

Sounds like the solenoid has packed up.

Can you not try to lock and unlock it from inside first? before you damage the door card? try and have a play from inside with the lock / unlock.

Have you tried using the key and see if that would help to lock then unlock it?

I've tried using the key and that won't work either. Tried working on it inside the cabin and that's having no effect. I held the passenger door handle open on the inside and tried to unlock on my car and another and neither of them will allow me to open the lock if the handle is not fully depressed so I'm guessing the connecting rod is stuck somewhere and thats stopping the handle depressing fully.

I helped a fellow member (Hi PP) who had a similar problem to you. The door solenoid on the drivers side packed in and the door wouldn't open. In the end I managed to unlock it by turning the key in the door and lifting the handle at the same time (jiggle it around a bit). A squirt of silicone spray into the lock mech helped temporarily, but a new door solenoid is probably the way forward.
