Ok, the car has an auto-lock issue...

- Its an 00 with 70K on it
- No aftermarket alarm
- No factory optional alarm

Following are the electronics additions made to car byprevious owner

- Alpine headunit
- Alpine components in door and tweeters on the a-pillars
- some sort of DCI adapter

Here is what seems to happen:

The door automatically locks both drivers and passengers side randomly. If I slam the door shut, it seems to do it more. Also, when driving, if I brake hard, door locks shut.

This is a bizzare problem I have been living with for a while. I have been working on removing the top and everytime I open door, shut it etc, I have to unlock it coz it locks.

I am assuming its something inside the drivers side door for sure.

Has anyone had this issue and what parts did they need to replace it? I will try to get these from someone like davgoat parting an s2k out and try it, if need be

There is a similar post today in UTH. The door jamb sensor may be faulty. The s2k has an auto-lock feature that re-locks the car if you unlock it but don't open the door for 30sec.
