ok well i think this discussion is not important to me since, now I am plannig to get another car for drifting. I went out today to drift, i was doing couple different canyon runs and drifting gets scary with the S in the canyons since just to break S03's loose you need to steer right at the rocks and jerk at the last moment ( power over is a little dangerous on little canyon roads) so I maged to get the hang of it a little bit, but it felt like a lot of work. So just to get a feel of what this car can do and cant do, where the treshold breaks and the car spins, I took it to the industrial center (nightime) where there are 5 lane roads and none driving. There is a 90 degree turn on that 5 lane road and I was trying the S, whenever I managed to bring the car to an angle that I like, an angle that I can call good drifting or show off, my countersteer started losing its effect and eventually I spun out on almost every single one of them. The one that I didint spin out, were either hald drifts where I didint push the car hard enough, or countersteered way too much and the car jerked to the other side with a sight fistailing ot the oppsite direction of the turn. So after this experience, drift king and fellow s2ki members I decide to get an additional car for drifting.
Well I was thinking of a 240 sx but thats gonna cost more than what I want to spend ( I like the newer body style where you can fit a silvia body kit), so I think I am gonna start to look for an AE86 chassis rearwheel drive toyota with a 5spd tranny. I didnt decide if I want the carburated engine or fuel injected. Well see I need to put some money aside for it. But if I do it, I probably will go all out, strip the interior completly and build a race car, probably a drift setup. Setup I am plannig is not too much power but ofcourse some low end torque with extreme gas response. ITB's are a good way to go for both but well see. Except that probably lower it, so tires and ( since I will buyt areally cheap one ) new internals gaskets and maybe tranny rebuild is what I am thinking. Get a good LSD and I am pretty much good to go. For now I expect the project to run me around $5k including the car, but with no beauty things like tint radio or interior upgrades. Just an ok power good runnig drift car. Ofcourse this will take a lot of time and dedication to the car but oh wellI wanted to do a project for a long time. And as always when I am done working on AE86 I can always take my S for some Sunset Bulvd pimping
