Default Drilled, Slotted Brake Noises

I've recently installed a set of SPUGEN drilled/slotted rotors. The install was pretty straightforward and I had no problems removing the OEM rotors and swapping the plated and drilled SPUGENs. I've noticed slight "clicking/whooshing" sound when braking. The noise has lessened as more miles are put on the rotors (approximately 1000 miles). Is this a normal sound, or is something else going on?

I also installed slotted and drilled rotors with stock pads. I got the same noice you are describing, I still do. Some say it's the gases from the braking when the pads come in contact with the rotors.???

Yes, same here. Clicking noise as the pad goes over the slots...take a little getting used to.

Did you change your pads????
I've done 2 sets of these and no noise, but I changed the pads too.

I was thinking that I should have changed the pads, but the car had only 9000 miles on it. It was a lot noiser at first but as the coating got scubbed off, the sounds got less and less. It's still there, but just barely. You think pads would make a difference? I had installed a drilled set on my 1988 RX-7, with new pads (they really needed to be replaced) and don't remember any sounds...

if you don't replace the pads you should atleast resurface them with some fine sandpaper.
