Default Driveshaft Assy L/R differ in length?!

Hi guys,

I managed to break my left driveshaft assy @ 3k rpm (don't know why it happened). Anyway i bought 2 used ones for 500$ and the mechanic called me saying the left one is longer than the right one. And that if mounted (it works) the wheel tilts a bit to one side.

Call me crazy but i thought our driveshaft was centered and the 2 axles should be the same length.

Can someone please confirm or correct me? I need to know, because if it is not true, then i need to know why the wheel is tilted...

Thanks a bunch
T.
