Default Dual to Single mod

could you take a dual exhaust and make it single? i have the skunk 2 set up in dual, just wondering if its feasible to use a plasma cutter and cut off the driver side exit in a way so the left over metal folds down over the exhaust and weld that up. i mean i know its possible, but beneficial? i would like a single exhaust and considering the cost of one, and since i already have a dual...didnt know if that would work, just thought i'd ask where theres more knowledge to be had... thanx guys.

yes you can make it a single as long as you can weld. usually single gain more top end as long as the piping diameter is correct

well the piping is 60 mm. from my understanding you dont want much bigger if you are N/A/. no problem with the welding at all.

60mm is too small if your looking for gains, isnt that smaller than stock? 62/63mm? It would loose weight and be louder probably.

I'd carefully cut one leg of the dual at a straight part of the pipe, with a Dremel preferably to get a very clean cut. Then instead of welding, use a cap which is clamped on to see if it works. If it doesn't, should be easier to go back to dual. BTW, I think you'll find the section you capped will act like a Helmholtz resonator and reduce some drone.
