It all depends how you want it to sit. We cut the extra muffler off and then using existing metal from the unused muffler and pipe we fabbed up the bends needed to run it. only took a few hours

well I'm hopin the only fabing i'll have to do is to cover a hole. if you look at the skunk2 cans coming out the rear of the car you can see where the two pipes come together at the flange. I want to cut the driver side can off in a way I can fold the exhaust pipe over the hole. its hard to explain and I have it pictured in my head lol but when I get around to doin it I will post pictures

well the piping is 60 mm. from my understanding you dont want much bigger if you are N/A/.
Misinformation. The need for backpressure is a myth. Why do cars run open headers at the track?

You are wrong. Cars run open headers at the track because they operate in a very small RPM range... that would be the top of the RPM range. Yes, an open exhaust will make more power at high rpm.

However, the proper amount of backpressure will add torque at intermediate and low RPMs. If you plan on actually driving your car on the street, then this is impoertant. I have seen motors make more horsepower on a dyno with Bullet mufflers than with straight headers... often.

Ah the devil is in the details! Street or race, race with which rules?
Most of the motors we built were for Pro Stock drag racing, Super Stock drag racing, or Hooters Cup.
Backpressure is absolutely not needed in a properly designed engine. What is backpressure other than a restriction in flow. Why would you want to restrict flow?
It is like variable valve timing, you need different amounts of flow to make maximum horsepower at different RPMs. Since we cant change the size of the runner or valve during operation, and the motors we built didnt have variable timing, the answer is to control flow with runner length and diameter (you might call it "an exhaust system").
were you trading HP for torque?
You cannot trade one for the other. Horsepower is a made up number that is simply a mathmatical factor of torque... if you give up one, you give up the other.

so heres my next question. the resonator in the piece coming off of the cat going to the flange where the duals split off, the piece that has the hanger on it, what purpose does it serve? can i replace that with some exhaust that was cut off??
