so you are saying that you tried doing the same thing and it didnt work? hmm well that kinda of makes me hesitant. how did you do it? do you have pix?
I dont have any pics, but with the apexi, the Y split off to 2 flanges, one for each muffler. I just took off the driver muffler and capped off the flange with a piece of sheet metal. There was something like 5 inches of pipe down one side, and the muffler out the passenger side

I tried doing that with my apexi WS2 and i lost a lot more power than I thought to the point where even the transition to VTEC felt like my car was bogging. I may have lost less power if I didnt just cap off one side like that, but I never tried it.

Also for the arguement about a 63mm being best for N/A, I now have a t1r 70mm sparrow and have no signs of lost power
Is the WS2 50mm after the Y? With the Skunk2 IIRC it's 60 or 63mm before and after the Y split so even capping off leg doesn't reduce the flow. It just becomes 60mm all the way through. You may have gone from 60mm down to 50mm when you capped after the Y in the WS2.

I'm actually not sure, but I've heard the WS2 has the same piping as the stock exhaust. I dont know the measurements on that either though.

Just cut it already haha. You can cut the resonator off hang your single back up and just butt the pipes together to see what its going to sound like. If it sounds raspy leave the resonator, if it sounds fine without it then chuck the resonator.

finally decided no hacking up exhaust by myself. i still want it to look presentable, so i'm goin to an exhaust shop to have them quote me a bend piece of 60 mm stainless from before the resonator to right after the duals split. that way there is no hacking shit in. i have an "appointment" with the exhaust werks on tuesday afternoon. i'll fill you guys in then
