and he said his stock motor was modded too.

WOW so there is really no reason to rev the f22 to 9k

I say 8300 max

I don't think any of his mods are good for much more power. The gains you get from a CAI or exhaust are negligible. You could see some gain from the VAFC I suppose but those gains would diminish once the ecu readjusts itself to the changes you made.

I could be wrong but his before and after dyno numbers seem reasonable to me.

really? look at my sig, my mods are: KN filter/vafc2 tuned/custom 70mm headerback. I have found that the ecu/exhaust have been the biggest power adders.

i do think that my before numbers are not all that impressive, but i've seen numbers on an ap1 as high as 215 and low as 198 with the same or less mods. But i think i had the friday afternoon before quiting time motor. and yes there is really no point to rev the f22 to 9 because the power falls off around 8300. Though it can take it just a time or two, but not alot.

Umm... the power on the F20C falls off at 8300, too... so does that mean that you shouldn't rev it to 9K? No. You continue revving past peak power because you're taking advantage of the torque multiplier of the lower gear. You want to keep going until wheel torque in current gear is less than wheel torque in next higher gear.

very true, I just meant the f22, it seems like some people want to do the swap to rev it to 9k. Though it can go to 9k, it can't handle it as often as the f20.

I gained nothing from my exhaust but sound and the gains from my aem cai were maybe 5hp (never dyno'd after). I can't really speak on the VAFC2 but from what I read our ecu will readjust itself over time so any gains will be lost. Now the gains you get from your 70mm custom exhaust might be decent. I have dual so I really gained nothing.

My point is (as FASTSIIK stated) some people are right at 200hp with the same mods he has, so his original numbers were not far off base imo.

The WOT tuning of a VAFC will not be nullified. However, the POT maps will.

The mod that gave me the most noticalbe gains i'd have to say is the T1R test pipe.
