Umm... the power on the F20C falls off at 8300, too... so does that mean that you shouldn't rev it to 9K? No. You continue revving past peak power because you're taking advantage of the torque multiplier of the lower gear. You want to keep going until wheel torque in current gear is less than wheel torque in next higher gear.
according to the dyno the f20c holds power better in relation to the f22 after 8300 RPM

all you need to get 9k out of the ap2 is an ap1 ecu that i know of. I can't speak for aftermarket ecu's, i dont know anything about them. From what I know, that is because of the fuel shut off in the ap2 ecu which is around 8300, i think. don't quote me on it though.

[QUOTE=BlownAP,Dec 1 2006, 03:03 PM] WOW so there is really no reason to rev the f22 to 9k

^ Look around the boards and you'll probably see a handful of people revving the F22 to 9K. Sure, they may not hit 100K miles on that engine, but when you're striving for performance, sometimes you're willing to sacrifice a bit of longevity. I also know of a boosted F20C that's turning >9.5K RPMs. Boost+High Revs is just asking for failure, but he does it anyway.

Anyway, if the original poster has the funds to do the engine swap to begin with, who's to say that he doesn't have the funds to replace the engine if it blows?

I run my 2.2 to 8500rpm, it really helps out with not banging off the rev limiter or dropping out of vtec on a lousy shift

plus it increases the power under the curve a lot, I put several cars on a stock AP2 the other night, all I have is intake and test pipe along with the MY01 ecu

You do know a properly tuned FI engine puts less stress on the rods than a NA engine , right ???
