I would venture to say dyno results utilizing a snorkel will be inaccurate compared to on street performance. As you stated, the air will have a more difficult time making its way to the filter when the car is not moving. A fan will not accurately reproduce this action at all. The amount of air it can blow into the small snorkel inlet will be minuscule compared to the ram effect on the street.

I've actually had an ebay snorkel on my car for over a year now. It cost me $80 after shipping from Hong Kong. I didn't have to cut anything on the front grill. It did improve my throttle response much like a hondata gasket did. You do lose top end power however. We have a dyno out our shop and we tested my 2000 vs a 2005 S2K. If your going to stay NA...I would get a AEM V2 or ITB. But that is just 2 cents.
The AEM sounds good, but about those ITBs.... i dont know, unless you have the money time and tools to get them just right, they arent the best option.

1) with my snorkel I noticed no reduction in top end on the dyno

2) you have to be careful how you mount these - you shouldnt have to hack them about (although I cannot comment on the quality and fitment of your ebay style snorkel)

3) if the 2005 only made 187rwhp on the dyno there is something wrong with that car not yours - the F22 should be dynoing easily ~210rwhp

Yea... I just had to cut a few slits in the mouth of the snorkel (not the grill itself) and now it sits pretty flush and barely hits the hood. I noticed some snorkels already come with the slits so they probly just left that out of the mold for the ebay one.

Bumping from the dead in search of user information on the eBay snorkel sold by racing_raven, which are now about $105-110 shipped.

Other than having to make cuts in the snorkel so that its opening can fit the bumper grill and removing the OEM intake "horn", are there any other modifications to a stock S2000 needed to get this to fit? The seller said nothing else needed to be done, but I can't trust the seller. I've seen some other-brand snorkel installation threads that showed modifying or removing an OEM plastic flap that directs air towards the radiator, but I don't know if this particular snorkel also needs that to be done.

I bought my cf/kevlar one from ebay, and it fit like a glove. No modifications necessary. Only problem I had was that my hood rubs on the snorkle...even after adjust the latch.

Not always. i think Ap2s seems to dyno on average between 190-210 and like always all there are so many conditions that have effect on a motors performance at any given time. 187 doesnt seem too low. it is was <180, than id be a little worried....
