JDM ECU = No immobilizer
JDM ECU = No OBD2 (pretty sure)
JDM ECU = Maybe tuned a little different. I'm think the JDM F20 has higher compression ratio.
Mine have a obd2 port on my jdm s2k

So a JDM S2000 has a DLC. I noticed in another thread you said you fixed the CEL from a missing air pump. Assuming that's the same JDM car. Did you pull that code from the DLC with an OBD2 scan-tool?
I'm actually kind of surprised the JDM cars would have the air pump. I suppose if a JDM car can store a DTC for the air pump, they must have OBD2 to some degree.
Having a DLC and being OBD2 compliant are two different things however.

Upon further invstigation OBD apparently comes in flavors.

OBD II (California ARB)
EOBD (European OBD)
JOBD (Japanese OBD)

A JDM car should be JOBD, not OBD2.
Anyway, that's what I read.

Correction: Most Japanese cars built in this time frame are OBD2 compliant (around 2001 and up I guess)

What does the sticker under the hood say?

Thanks

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm still curious as to what the sticker say's though.

All gasoline engine cars sold in the EU since 2001 are fully OBD2 compliant
All diesel cars sold in the EU since 2004 are fully OBD2 compliant
Most Japanese cars built in this time frame are OBD2 compliant
