Default ECU Swap Question

I'm pretty sure this has been asked before..but for some reason, i couldn't find anything in the search.

I am selling my car soon...problem is, I have a hondata reflashed ECU. I would like to trade/sell the ECU, but I am not sure how it would work. I have an MY07. Would it be possible to swap ecu's with another MY06-07? I know the ECU will have to be "mated" with the new key FOB, but is it possible just to trade FOB's along with the new owner of the ECU? Will this present a problem in any way?

Thanks in advance for looking!

I did this on my 00...so cant comment if there are any differences.

All i did was swap the ECU (you will need the VIN from the donor) and have a dealership reprogram your keys (about $100).

I just had the ECU ready to come out and told them to swap it for me, they were cool and didnt charge me to physically swap it, just reporgram.

The only issue I can see with swapping keys is that your locks will be different, and you'll have to find someone willing to swap (not just buy an ECU from) so you can get all the keys etc..

The problem here is that I don't want to go through a dealer. My ECU is hondata reflashed, and that could bring up warranty issues with whoever traded with me.

I was thinking that all we would need to do is switch key fobs...we will keep our physical keys...we will just swap the wireless module for the keys...

so what would normally take place then if you were to send your original ecu off for reflash and they send back, since each ecu has its diff program for each keyfob?

Maybe your key is different from mine, but the chip/transponder resides in our key, not the FOB... If it was in your FOB, then it would be a lot easier, but im not sure thats the case..

AP2 anyone?

the reflash should just stay with the car. By the time you reprogram 2 ecus to work in different cars you've already lost most of your money any way. It's not going to cause any warranty issues for anybody, it's essentially undetectable.
