Default EGT Sensor Installation - Advice and Pictures Needed

I need your help on mounting my Defi EGT sensor.

I heard to mount it on #3 cylinder.
Which way do we count?
Front to back of the motor?

Does it require the removal of the header?
How much difference in temperature mounting 1-3" from the block vs closer to end of the stock header?

Can you post some pictures of previous installations? Thanks.

My shop insisted on installing the probe in the collector. The wire runs from the collector, under the tranny, and up past the slave cylinder. It was relatively easy to weld the bung to the medial aspect of the collector. With the sensor at this great distance from the exhaust valves it still runs 600+ degrees f on the freeway at 65mph. At the head temps or where you propose on #3 runner would be elevated somewhat from the readings I get.
