Default Testpipe Leaking vibrating and strange o2 sensor placement

I just installed a Berk testpipe on MY08 s2000 (already have HKS Hi-Power) and the car sounds like complete crap so I think I did something wrong, I just can't figure out what it is. The car sounds nothing like its suppose to sound like with a testpipe, instead it sounds more like a fart-can and most of the exhaust sound is coming from the middle of the car instead of the rear . More specifically it is coming from the testpipe section where the header meets the testpipe.

Is there a gasket there that I'm suppose to replaced between the TP and Header? Berk TP came with a gasket for the TP/Exhaust but not for TP/Header

Also, my o2 sensor is super close to a frame that holds the tranny/driveshaft, the sensor is literally a fingernail from touching it (as you can see in the picture). I looked at other pictures online and no one seems to have a sensor so close that its about to hit the underframe.

Any thoughts on this? I'm stumped

Mine didn't have a gasket in between the header and HFC, only the HFC and exhaust mid-pipe.

I don't think it has anything to do with the O2 sensor, if it is sounding like a fart-can it has to be leaking somewhere.

i had to put a shim to get it to seal good between the TP/Header.

idle the car and put your hand under the TP/header connection, if its leaking you can probably feel it

It looks like there's no donut gasket in your pics. Are you sure it's on there?

No clue why the o2 sensor is so close, but that doesn't look right. If the tp moves rearward, does that increase the clearance?

I think I am missing a donut gasket, I just looked up the part. I'm going to buy another one from honda and see if that fixes my problems. Thanks! I'll update if this has fixed the problem after I install it

donut gasket is probably on your oem cat, if it isnt to bad looking you can try to reuse it. Also napa and the such carry them if you dont want to go to honda its a pretty universal part. just a conical gasket slipped over the pipe that protrudes from that end.

google image s2000 donut gasket you'll see everything you need.

So, I went and bought a new donut gasket from the honda dealership today. I took off the testpipe and I see the old donut gasket still on the header (I didn't bother to check before, so I just bought it anyways).

So now as I was directly under it I realized that it wasn't the testpipe, but the location of the o2 sensor and the driveshaft/tranny underbracket. They conflict and hit eachother and so the testpipe won't fit....

My have to contact berk tomorrow. It's possible they welded the o2 bung in the wrong location.
All the berk TP's I've seen, photos of or actually seen installed seams to have the bung mounted 2 inches rear of where yours is mounted.

Yeah most ttimes the 02 sensor should be rotated down on the test pipe 45 degrees it shoukdnt hit that. Id still replace that donut gasket though when they send a replacement. Email the pic to burk
