Problem after repairing clutch can anyone help
I recently had my gearbox fixed to resolve the problem of high pitch noise on deceleration with the clutch engaged. The dealer also replaced the clutch. Now when the clutch pedal is depressed or released (engaging or disengaging the clutch) I get a loose sound. This sound is similar to when a universal joint is loose causing play. The dealer has told me that there is many joints throughout the tranny and rear end and this is silply taking up the play.
Does this sound also occur in other S200's. Any advise or suggestions??

if my car is in neutral and i have the clutch out, i can hear a very slight mechanical vibration noise in drivetrain. its b/c part of the transmission is spinning. when the clutch is pushed in, the noise gets quieter. but again, this noise isn't very obvious. if the noise you're talking about is very loud, then its not normal at all.
The drive shaft was removed (at least disconnected at one end) to remove the transmission. You do want to make sure it was torqued back in. There has been at least one story on the board telling of damage when it was not. (I have done my own clutch work after damage and missing fasteners by dealership mechanics).
